Practice Makes Permanent – Ash Wednesday 2025
March 5, 2025
Welcome all to the love and grace of Jesus. Cornerstone United Methodist is excited to have you in worship with us today for our special Ash Wednesday Service. This evening, we start off with a beautiful prelude, presented by Ms. Carolyn Kramlich. After a moment of welcome, we will invite all to the Observance of Lenten Discipline, followed by a prayer and congregational response. Our response comes from Ann Siddell, “Lent to Easter” liturgies. We then will sing a special hymn titled “Give Me Jesus”, led by our very own Thomas Sheets. Our Psalter reading comes from the book of Psalms, chapter 51, and can be found in the hymnal as UMH 785. We are then blessed to hear from our own Cindy Rohrbaugh, who will sing “Fade Away”. As we move into our message, the scripture today comes from the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 6, verses 1-6 and 16-21. Our message will be presented by Mr. Andy Unger and is the titled “Practice Makes Permanent”. Following Andy’s message, Rev. Dr. Brian Germano will give thanks over the ashes as we gather to ddclare what we will be practicing for Lent, before the Imposition of Ashes. Finally, Cindy closes us out with “Lead Me to the Cross” as we are sent forth during this season of Lent.
Thank you for being part of our special blended service today and every week!
